Just because doing SEO is not 1+1 = 2. There is no formula for you to calculate how many backlinks you need to rank for a certain keyword. All of them are estimated.

That’s why you need to keep optimize as time goes by. Don’t stop after few weeks as you see no result. If you keep building links consistently, you will achieve good ranking. However, it also depends on what keywords you after.
